Last Call!

Hi everyone, it’s December 31 and that marks the end of the free listings on http://professionalfineartnetwork.blogspot.com/. You can still get in under the wire and be grandfathered into the new site by paying your dues today! For a listing with your name, specialty and URL it’s only 10.00. For a jpg of your work and a short profile, it’s 25.00 (that includes the name, specialty and URL listing too). Some consultants and fabricators have even donated more which is great! Since you’ll be an “alpha member”, once you join that’s it. You will not be charged a yearly subscription fee, but new members after January 1, 2010 will be charged.

The new site is coming along and as promised will be done sometime in January 2010. You’ll be able to upload your own profiles, we’ll have discussion boards, and I’m in negotiations with an expert in public art to have an inaugural teleconference about how to obtain commissioned projects. It will also have a section with articles about a featured member of the month, and I will be posting job opportunities for artists. We have many artists, fabricators, art coaches, galleries and art consultants already onboard. In addition, we’ll have searchable categories, so consultants can easily find what they’re looking for. In the future, I hope to get sponsors from suppliers who will offer discounts to members.

The old site ( http://professionalfineartnetwork.blogspot.com/) will remain online even after the new site goes live, but I will not be adding any more information after January 1, 2010. If you’ve already sent me your information, I will catch up in the next few days.

Don’t worry, you can still be part of the group without making a contribution. Obviously, both Facebook and LinkedIn are free. We have discussions going on in both the LinkedIn and Facebook groups.

Many of you have made new contacts, have picked up new commission work, and some of the galleries and consultants listed have chosen new artists to represent. We now have over 2000 members, with 12 new members today alone! The blog index has gotten more than 20,000 page views of YOUR work or listings! More funding = more features. All of the money raised will go toward writing/maintenance of the new site. I've put a PayPal link in the sidebar of the current blog to make donating easy. If this option doesn’t work for you, email me and I’ll give you my mailing address and you can send a check. Remember, you DO NOT need to contribute to be a member on LinkedIn and Facebook!
