I grew up amidst the amazing beauty of the San Francisco bay area.   But the Hudson Valley where I now reside provides equally inspiring locations such as those painted by the original Hudson River artists.  Whether portrait or landscape, I prefer to work from life. Paintings are more alive when painted on location.  Perhaps the joy of the experience is somehow transferred to the painting.

The painting shown here is "Bradish Dance" one of my "sequence paintings" where I use multiple images to indicate the motion of a scene.  In this case, my son was playing with the sheets drying on the line in our backyard.
